This is an outstanding cluster of lustrous manganvesuvianite (manganese-rich vesuvianite) crystals on a red-black matrix. The entire specimen measures 1.8" wide and was collected from the N'Chwaning Mine in the Kalahari Manganese Fields of Kuruman, Africa.

These tetragonal silicate crystals are exemplified by the type locality from the N'Chwaning Mine in the Kalahari Manganese Fields of South Africa.
