1.8" Colorful Agate Pseudomorph After Gastropods - Colorado

This is an interesting specimen of red, orange, and yellow agate replaced, aquatic gastropod fossils that have been exposed from the rock. They eroded out of the Jurassic-aged Morrison Formation near Cañon City, Colorado, however the specific layer from which they came from has yet to be located. They resemble specimens collected from the Morrison Formation across multiple sites in Western Colorado.

The specimen has been mounted to an acrylic display base with mounting putty.
