1.3" Fossil Winged Seed (Ailanthus) - Wyoming

This is a 1.3" fossil samara winged seed (Ailanthus confucii). It comes from the Eocene aged, Green River Formation of Wyoming. While this formation is best known for well-preserved fossil fish found in Wyoming, other sections of the formation contain very diverse flora and insect fauna.
