1.25" Paleocene Fossil Catkin (Palaeocarpinus) - North Dakota

This is a beautiful fossil male catkin (staminal infructescence) of the species Palaeocarpinus dakotensis, collected from the Sentinel Butte Formation of North Dakota. It is finely detailed and the light preservation contrasts well against the dark orangish-brown rock.

It comes with an acrylic display stand.
