Beautiful, Green Tourmaline Crystals in Quartz - Pakistan

This is an incredible tourmaline in quartz specimen from Skardu District, Pakistan. In the center of the specimen is the remainder of a quartz crystal with notable flat faces, holding 4 tourmaline crystals. Two of the green tourmaline crystals have terminations with little to no damage, with the other two crystals looking to have lost their top during the extraction process. However, the lack of termination allows for easy visibility of the dark green phantom, within.

Tourmaline is a crystalline boron silicate mineral compounded with elements such as aluminium, iron, magnesium, sodium, lithium, or potassium. Schorl, or black tourmaline, is its most common form, and has been used for everything from jewelry to piezoelectric guitar pickups.
