5.4" Calcite, Pyrite and Fluorite Association - Fluorescent

This specimen contains calcite and fluorite with pyrite micro-crystals. The fluorite can be viewed when looking at what could be considered the bottom of the specimen, noted by its slight green hue. Calcite crystals can be found across the top of the specimen. The pyrite is located in small cavities between the quartz crystals. There is a stress fracture through the middle of the specimen, though there is no indication that there has been any repair work done.

Under short and long-wave UV lighting, the calcite fluoresces pink-orange, while the fluorite at the bottom of the specimen has a beautiful deep blue fluorescence.
