3.9" Calcite, Dolomite, Pyrite, and Quartz association - Lowville, NY

This is an incredibly diverse and beautiful specimen from Lowville, Lewis County, New York. There is a combination of calcite, dolomite, pyrite, and herkimer diamond (quartz), naturally displayed on a matrix thats makeup is mainly pyrite and hydrocarbon coated dolostone.

The shape of the calcite on this specimen is typically only found in this location, definitely adding a unique touch to this, and other minerals that come out of this area. Not to mention the association of herkimer diamond, which does not commonly form along side twinned calcite specimens.

Scattered throughout the entire specimen are grey dolomite mineral formations, which wonderfully cap off the true diversity of the entire specimen.
