2.4" Thomsonite (Zeolite) On Stilbite - Maharashtra, India

This is an incredible 2.4" long specimen containing the zeolite thomsonite from the Maharashtra province of India. Thomsonite is one of the rarest zeolites found in the volcanic rocks of the area. The fuzzy ball of thompsonite has a brown-peach coloration and measures 1.07" across.

Small tabular stilbite crystals can be found protruding from the surface of the matrix, surrounding the thompsonite "blobs" that seem to ooze across the specimen. There are stabilized cracks along the underside of the specimen where the matrix began to split. This specimen comes with an acrylic display stand.
