2.4" Faden Quartz with Chlorite - Pakistan

This incredible specimen is small, but has an interesting growth pattern! One side of the quartz is clearly transparent, leaving a window to see the hazy inclusions of chlorite beneath. The opposite side of this specimen displays a cloud of chlorite that hides the sheen of the quartz.

Faden quartz with chlorite is typically found in mountainous regions. Quetta and Northern Pakistan produce the most well-known deposits of these beautiful specimens. These quartz formations occurs between cracks in a host rock. The cracks in the rock expand with the crystals, occasionally causing ruptures within the crystal from pressure. This causes the healing process to begin, giving rise to the branching off of parallel faden quartz crystals seen in the majority of our listed specimens.
