2" Brucite - Pakistan

This beautiful translucent specimen of white and yellow brucite measures 2" long, and includes a small chunk of matrix located on what could be aesthetically considered bottom of the specimen. The rich neon yellow color displayed by this crystal aggregation is a perfect example of the quality of color that these crystals can present.

Brucite, a mineral composed of Mg(OH)2, comes in all ranges of colors depending on locality. Typically it forms in subparallel aggregates of plates as well as tabular crystals, each of which can be fibrous to elastic in rigidity. Brucite from Killa Saifullah District, Balochistan, Pakistan typically displays a vibrant yellow-green color, some comparative to a bright yellow highlighter.
