This is an exceptionally nice 13.3"x 7.8" plate of attractive pink Halite crystals collected from Trona, California. The crystal formations have a geometrically astatic appeal that can only be truly appreciated in person. This cluster is really nice because both side have beautiful halite crystals.

Halite, more commonly known as rock salt, is a form of the mineral sodium chloride. It forms when salt-rich waters evaporate, and can be colored by residual mineral impurities. Trona, California is famous for producing beautiful halite crystals in the brines of Lake Owen.
