1.4" Lemon-Yellow Brucite - Balochistan, Pakistan

 
 
This beautiful translucent specimen of brucite measures 1.4" long, and includes small sections of matrix association on what could be aesthetically considered the top and bottom. The neon yellow color displayed by this crystal aggregation is a perfect example of the quality of color that these crystals can present.

Brucite, a mineral composed of Mg(OH)2, comes in all ranges of colors depending on locality. Typically it forms in subparallel aggregates of plates, as well as tabular crystals, each of which can be fibrous to elastic in rigidity.
