Crystals are a solid material, formed from molecules fit together in an organized and repeating pattern. These repeating patterns cause crystals for form in all sorts of unique shapes. The vast majority of crystals formed in nature are microscopic and make up all of the rocks on earth. But, under ideal conditions larger (macro) crystals can form. It is these stunning examples that we think of when the word "crystal" comes to mind.
Amethyst Crystals & Geodes - Amethyst is a beautiful, purple variety of quartz. We import amethyst crystals and geodes from mines around the world. Most popular is the dark amethyst mined the basalt flows near Artigas, Uruguay. We have a huge selection of amethyst geodes, crystal clusters, and display specimens available at great prices.
Polished Agates - Banded agates are extremely popular right now and we have a wide selection of them from many different locations. Agates are a variety of microcrystalline quartz that grows inside a cavity within a rock. The banded patterns that are produced are a record of the changes in the chemistry of the fluids that are depositing minerals on the walls of the cavities. Some of our most popular agates are the crazy lace agates and laguna agates out of Mexico, brazilian agates and fiery carnelian agates from Madagascar.
Fluorite Crystals - Fluorite is popular among mineral collectors due to the variety of colors and crystal shapes that it occurs in, as well as the fact it tends to be fluorescent under UV light. It is a relatively common mineral that can be found in almost all of the colors of the rainbow, though purple and green are most common. We have a lot of excellent fluorite crystal specimens from many locations around the world including China, Spain, Morocco, Illinois and many others.
Polished Labradorite - Labradorite is a feldpar based mineral that has a very interesting property that almost doesn't look natural. When shift in the light it can play of iridescent blue, green, red, orange, and yellow colors. This is due to the light refracting off of different planes within the stone.
Gleaming Pyrite - Pyrite is a golden, metallic mineral that forms a number of interesting crystal shapes. Commonly referred to as fool's gold, it is an iron sulfide mineral with a bright metallic luster. Most popular are the amazing, natural pyrite cubes from the Victoria mine in Spain, the gleaming pyrite clusters from Peru and the pyrite sun formations collected from coal mines in Illinois.
