Three Ordovician Brittle Stars (Ophiura) - Morocco

This is three fossil brittle stars (Ophiura) from the Kataoua Formation of Morocco. It is Ordovician in age, approximately 450 million years old. The bright orange coloration is natural and due to the oxidization of iron pyrite. The largest brittle star is 3.7" wide. There are several repaired cracks running through the rock and the brittlestars with some restoration along the crack repairs.

It comes with an acrylic display stand.
