Big Thaleops Trilobite From Wisconsin - World Class Specimen

This is a true World Class trilobite from the Platteville Formation of Wisconsin. It's the largest and nicest specimen of Thaleops ovata which I have ever seen. It's beautifully preserved, slightly tucked and 1.9" wide at the genals. Excellent preparation work, just a little bit of shell restoration on the tail.

The Platteville Formation is rarely collected and complete trilobites are very tough to find. Our digging partner who has a leased quarry on this formation has only found a handful of nice trilobites in the past two years for the locality.
