2.8" Scarce Amphiplaga Fossil Fish - Wyoming

Amphiplaga brachyptera is one of the rarer fish in the Green River Formation, making up much less than 1% of the total fish population. It's a small fish, this individual being about average size at 2.9" and is a member of the "trout-perch" family. Because of it's rarity it was almost certainly a solitary, not a schooling fish like the more common fish found in the lake.
