4.1" Polished Dinosaur Bone (Gembone) Slab - Colorado

This is a slab of agatized, Late Jurassic aged dinosaur bone from Colorado. One side has been polished to a glossy finish which allows for the beautiful internal cell structure to be easily seen. The small cells would be indicative of a non-theropod dinosaur, almost certainly one of the large Sauropods like Diplodocus or Camarasaurus which are common in the Morrison Formation.

It comes with an acrylic display stand.

Agatized dinosaur bone is a rare form of fossilized dinosaur bone where the original fossilized bone has been re-mineralized (replaced) with silica based compounds (agate, jasper, chalcedony, or opal).
