3.2" Fossil Leaf (Allophylus) With Insect Predation - Utah

This is a fossil leaf from the plant Allophylus flexifolia. Allophyllus is a genus of flowing plants in the Sapindaceae family, members of which still survive today. It is Eocene in aged and comes from the Green River Formation. There is a large area on the left hand side where it's been eaten by insects. There is one repaired crack through the rock at the leaf.
