1.1" Devil Horned Cyphaspis Walteri Trilobite

 
 
 
Here is nice example of the Devonian trilobite Cyphaspis walteri sometimes referred to as the "Devil Horn" Cyphaspis for obvious reasons. This is a nicely presented example of this spiny Moroccan Otarionidae trilobite.

It's 1.1" long and all of the spines have been prepared free of the surrounding limestone. There is about 5% shell restoration, spread out in small patches on the thorax and head.

This species was finally formally described in 2014. A link to the paper can be found below.
