GERMAN AMMONITE FOSSILS FOR SALE
The Bavarian region around Nuremberg and Stuttgart in southern Germany sits atop the Posidonia shale, which holds most German ammonites. Specimens from this area are often contained in grey or black bituminous shale. Our German ammonites come as prepared specimens, and as clusters or plates. The Posidonia shale provides a dark background to highlight the bright, often pyritized ammonites.
